Pashmina
Pashmina, derived from Persian word for wool, is the underbelly fur of Himalayan goat that lives in the high altitude Himalayan region of South Asia. Every summer herders pluck the underbelly fur of these goats without doing any harm to these animals. Each goat can produce only 6-8 ounces of Pashmina every year. The normal size of Pashmina is 1/6th the size of the human hair, and is very soft and delicate. Pashmina products are light, luxurious and very warm.

Process
Cleaning and spinning the underbelly fur produces Pashmina yarn. High quality spun silk and Pashmina yarn are acquired. Silk is added to Pashmina to bring luster and shine. We use 100% pure Pashmina and 100% pure silk to produce our 70/30 mix Pashmina products. Our products are hand woven individually in looms by highly skilled craftspeople of Nepal, of which most are women. These women are local women, but are experts in the art of weaving Pashmina, expertise handed down from generations. Pashmina is very thin and needs a lot of expertise to weave it properly. After Pashmina products are hand-woven, they are dyed individually with metal-free natural colors, washed, dried, packed and are ready to be shipped. Today, manufacturers in Nepal are very conscious about the environment and work practices, especially when products have to be shipped abroad.
